Thursday Themed Photography!

Hi!  I'm back!  Frequent blogging brought to you by my own forced couch sitting!

I saw that a fun blogger Cari at Clan Donaldson is hosting a photography link up and I love photography, but lately I've been pretty much a phone snapping gal.

This is sad, because I have a lovely camera thanks to my thoughtful Mr. P.

He sent it to me when he was in Afghanistan and I'll never forget how surprised and excited I was to receive such a generous gift.  Initially, I took twenty million photos a day and emailed Mr. P a steady stream of my "art".  He literally did not miss a thing.  Every meal, project, excursion, and sleepy reading session was snapped by my faithful Canon Rebel.

Anyway, Cari's theme is Sun Flare or Haze.   I took a few. Not sure if that is cheating but here we go.

First, Sun Haze in the window.  Taking a picture of the direct sun doesn't always go super well for me, not to mention the cornea burning situation that I've got ingrained in my psyche thanks to my 2nd grade teacher!  So I notice a great reflection in the window and went for it...

1/8s f /3.2 800 ISO (I think..)

The next one is for the Haze part.   I saw my sad, cold, drowned Rosemary plant and I immediately identified emotionally with this plant.  It's just that time of year, neither Mom nor Rosemary can thrive fully till spring!

1/160s f/3.5 (Can't remember ISO)  Iphoto edit to Black and White.

And here is my own personal sunshine to get me through the gray days of winter!

1/50s f/2 ISO auto   unedited sweetness...

  1. They're all beautiful (though how can any compete with that last one?).

I love the reflection in your "haze" photo, and the edit choice was perfect.

Thanks for linking up. Hope to see you next week.

    1. For all of these photos I used a 50 mm lens. Also known as the Fifty Nifty because it always gives me a great shot!

    2. Is it the 50 1.8? That is on my list next (right now still using the kit lens until I can justify an upgrade). Can't wait. Your pics are magical!

    3. It's full title is Canon Lens EF 50mm 1:1.8 II I would say that of all the lenses that can go with the Canon, this one is the most bang for your buck. On Amazon, I think it's around 100 dollars, but ebay or a 2nd hand store might have them for alot cheaper. There are lenses that are thousands of dollars that I would never buy unless I started working for National Geographic or something, but the 50mm is a good investment!
