Links and also a really late what I wore Sunday...

Ok.  Let's start with the links.  I don't know if your kids are audio book fans, but my goodness will my children ever sit for 4-5 hours listening an audio book.  They often do so in odd positions.

Over the years, I've invested in some great audio books for car rides, but I've also discovered two great websites that have FREE stories.  They are mostly classics and my kids love them.  The first is Books Should Be Free; they have a great children's section and my children listen to the entire Dr. Doolittle story in one sitting while I read my own book.  Parental Outsourcing! It was awesome.  The 2nd one has shorter stories from authors like Rudyard Kipling and Oscar Wilde and it's called Story Nory.  Enjoy!

Ok I am disappointed that I didn't get my act together and participate in what I wore Sunday at Fine Linen and Purple.   But I'm coming in late with my super original what I wore Friday Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  It's sad but true.  I heart this shirt and am probably wearing it into an early frayed grave. It's a summer shirt, but I got it on sale in the fall and it's been Spring temperatures this winter so I've just been going with it.  See how awkward I am with my hand on my hip?  This picture confirms for me how fundamentally awkward this pose is and if someone can tell me the value in this particular pose I am all ears.   Also while I am gathering opinions about completely superfluous things.  Can we talk about wearing denim on denim.  I thought it was a fashion no-no and Mr. P is pretty emphatic that it certainly is--but, I saw this picture recently and I thought perhaps I could rock it.

So anyway, denim on denim.. Thumbs up or thumbs down?

  1. definite thumbs up...as long as they are different washes...otherwise you end up looking like you're at a rodeo

  2. Ditto to what Molly said- I heart denim on denim and that girl is rocking it.

  3. I came over here from Bonnie's blog, and have to weigh in: no to denim on denim, but chambray on denim (what that picture looks like) is OK at times. I also don't mix corduroys.

  4. I do not know if it's just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing issues with your website. It appears like some of the text on your posts are running off the screen. Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too? This might be a issue with my internet browser because I've had this happen previously.
    Kudos
